IMG_1198I’d like to think that all of us have that one thing or a couple of things that we can’t live without. For me, I cannot not have my wallet and phones when I’m going out. That’s very self-explanatory. Now beauty-wise, I don’t wear makeup all the freaking time because I like looking au naturel on some days and well, I get lazy, too. But I always bring a makeup kit because you’ll just never know when you need to meet someone. In it are a couple of must-haves or staples for when I want to look fresh. One is a great concealer with an amazing coverage and longevity because I have the worst under eye area and it can double as a foundation especially on good skin days, too! A lip and cheek tint or cream is also handy because they’re multi-purpose and can liven up the face in a jiffy! Oooh, forget eyeshadows, eye liner or mascara but a brow product is a MUST-HAVE for me! I just feel incomplete without them brows!

Now I want to quickly share with you the contents of the Jan-Feb BDJ Box. If you were able to snag this box, then I’m pretty sure you’re just as stoked as I am! It came in this huge, adorable and beautifully illustrated heavy box!

IMG_1200The theme for this month is Kawaii, which means “cute” in Japanese. It’s consists of Japanese products to achieve that kawaii look. Cute isn’t really a word to describe me or a look I aspire for because if you know me or have seen me in person, you know I’m quite a big lady. HAHAHA. But anyhow, I’m very happy to get this because the Japanese make the best beauty products ever and I’m looking forward to discovering new ones! This is also the first time that BDJ personalized the box and I’m sooo touched. Thank you so much BDJ girls for remembering!

IMG_1201It also includes a mini magazine containing tutorials on how to use the products, contests and vouchers! I remember I ran out of the Heroine Make Quick Brow Liner so I’m definitely going to use the voucher very soon! This is another first for BDJ and I actually enjoyed reading it. I hope they continue doing this. Btw, congrats to Liz of Project Vanity for this mini magazine! Enough chit chat and on to the products!

IMG_1223First up is the Bifesta Cleansing Lotion Bright Up (Php 419, 300ml). It’s the first water-based makeup remover that’s powerful yet gentle on the skin. It’s light and non-sticky yet provides an effective cleansing action. It contains saxifrage extract that fights away dead skin cells for an even-toned complexion. The product is suitable for dull and flaky skin. I’ve been told that this is a great contender to the Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micellar Water so I’m looking forward to see how well this fares. With Bioderma, there are times that I need to let the pad sit longer, especially on the eye area, to remove makeup.

IMG_1220There are 2 Lucido-L products and one of which is the Lucido-L Styling Milk Curl (Php 295, 70ml) which is a leave on treatment for hair conditioning and styling during day time with high penetrating Hyaluronic Acid that traps and seals-in moisture. It also helps in achieving soft and bouncy curls. It’s very light when applied and has a fruity floral fragrance that you’ll love. The other is the Lucido-L Treatment Oil Perm (Php 295, 50ml) which is an overnight treatment to repair permed and colored hair so you can maintain soft and bouncy cirls. It also serves as a heat protection serum whenever you are styling your tresses. I’ve gotten a sample of the Lucido-L Hair Make Supplement in the past BDJ Box but I can’t really recall my experience with it so I guess a proper review is in order for these 3.

IMG_1215One of the makeup from Pixy is the Pixy Blush On in Carnation Bloom (Php 345, 3.5g). This blush creates a natural, cute flush on your cheeks giving you a sweet and innocent glow. This tiny compact also comes with a handy brush and a built-in mirror for easy touch ups. I’ve gotten a sample of this before but I’ve yet to try them out. It looks like a nice shade for everyday and the compact design is indeed handy for traveling.

IMG_1217The Pixy Eyeshadow in Romantic Poem 01 (Php 315, 2.8g) has a micro-pearl formula that creates a soft texture to make application easy on your lids. It’s a gorgeous pink and purple eyeshadow that you can wear day and night. I’m glad I got another palette in this shades because I love the combination.

IMG_1219There are 2 face products in the box and one is the Pixy Two-Way Cake Fit in Natural Beige (Php 275, 12.2g) It’s formula blends perfectly for a smooth and long lasting base. It can be used wet for more coverage or dry for a natural look. It also contains two-way whitening squalene oil to prevent dry skin, and SPF 15 to protect your skin from sun damage. I’ve only tried this one but I remember it to have an amazing coverage. I wore a shade slightly lighter than my skin tone so it kinda appears white but what I love the most is that it kept the coverage until at night. Furreals.

IMG_1214This is my first time to receive the Pixy Coverlast in Natural (Php 325, 10g). I’m not sure if this is a new product but I didn’t see this in the launch. Anyhow, It’s a long-lasting powder foundation that has microsphere powder that covers blemishes for a smooth, even and natural makeup look. It also controls oil and shine to keep you looking fresh throughout the day. I like that this one is round because their other powder products are bulky. IMG_1221Finally, the Sunkiller Super Lasting Base (Php 495, 30 ml) is a tinted makeup base that has SPF 50 protection against skin aging UV rays and uses a blend of hyaluronic acid and collagen to hydrate the skin. It’s lightweight and promises to keep skin smooth and matte for 8 hours.  I never had a tinted base before so I’m excited to try this one.

IMG_1226There goes the unboxing of the January-Feberuary BDJ Box. I’m over the moon for this box! Very well-curated from trusted brands. I also love that they came in full-sizes so we can enjoy them more. BDJ really makes the best exclusive boxes and I’m looking forward to newer brand partnerships in the future. Remember to use the vouchers before March 15 as they expire then. If you missed this box, you can get a chance to win some items from this box through their contests.
